Auditions for Strangers Among Us

October 29th, 2017 to October 30th, 2017

While Alzheimer's is a central theme, it is not the only tone of this story. "Strangers Among Us" is a play about love, denial, acceptance, and family secrets. Two people meet and eventually fall in love while they and their families deal with some of the issues that can be associated with Alzheimer's. We will not only portray the pain, struggles, and heartbreak within the story, but also the beauty, love, hope and peace. There are 10 characters in the show and each has their moment to shine while adding to the layering and movement in telling this compelling story.

Auditions will be held at the Imperial Theatre Studios A and B (door located between the Imperial Theatre box office and ZZAS restaurant). We will be doing cold readings from pages of the script so no memorization is required for the audition, however you may sign out a copy of the script from the box office if interested. The audition dates and times will be October 29 & 30 starting at 6:30 PM with call backs if necessary on November 1 starting around 7PM. If you have difficulties with these dates and times but would still like to audition, please contact Ruth Francoeur via e-mail at and we will attempt to accommodate you.

Sunday, Monday & Wednesday 6:30-10 p.m. from Nov. 12th to Dec. 20th, then Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday from Jan. 4th to the 25th. We will NOT be rehearsing over the Christmas break from Dec. 21st to Jan. 3rd! Production week starts on Sunday Jan. 28th and continues daily through Feb. 1st. Opening night is on Feb. 2nd with evening performances Feb. 3,7,8,9 and 10. There is also a matinee on Sunday Feb. 4th (No shows or attendance required for Feb. 5 and 6). For those familiar with festival show entries; we will not be moving on to festival as we are hosting the WODL festival this year. There are no commitments after February 11, 2018.
Please come prepared with schedules to identify any conflicts.

Those are the relative ages of the characters, not necessarily the actors portraying them. We want you to succeed so enjoy the process and let us worry about what we believe will work on the stage. In other words, don't crush your own dreams, let me crush them for you.
