Theatre Sarnia PRESENTS IMPERIAL THEATRE HIGH SCHOOL PRODUCTIONS

Imperial Theatre High School Productions

Presented by Theatre Sarnia

Welcome to the Big Time!

Introducing Imperial Theatre High School Productions — a bold new initiative by Theatre Sarnia designed specifically for high school-aged youth in Sarnia-Lambton and beyond. Whether you're just entering Grade 9, enjoying a victory lap, or navigating 12X, this is for you.

Open to all teens with a passion for the performing arts — whether on stage or behind the scenes — this opportunity will deliver a full-scale, professional-style theatre experience at the iconic Imperial Theatre. It’s a chance to experience everything that makes live theatre magical — and to be part of something unforgettable. Cast and crew will work with experienced mentors to mount a high-quality production featuring full sets, costumes, lighting, sound, hair, and makeup. It's basically a full Theatre Sarnia show - but just for high school students!

On Stage or Backstage – There’s a Role for Everyone

Interested in getting involved on stage? Amazing! Casting for ITHSP will be completed by auditions. For each production, we will announce our audition information and requirements a few weeks before auditions actually occur. All interested high school students will be scheduled for an audition with our production team, which will include singing, acting, and dancing, and from these we will determine our cast.

Not a performer? No problem! There are countless off-stage opportunities to get involved:

  • Set Design & Construction

  • Lighting & Sound Operation

  • Stage Management

  • Costume Design & Wardrobe

  • Hair & Makeup

  • Props, Promotion, and More!

  •

Why Get Involved in Theatre?

Participating in youth theatre offers a wide range of personal and developmental benefits, including:

  • Confidence building through public performance and collaboration

  • Creativity and self-expression in a supportive environment

  • Teamwork and leadership skills

  • Time management and responsibility

  • Problem-solving and technical skill development

  • Lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community

  •

This is more than just an extracurricular — it’s a place where young people can discover their voice, build real-world skills, and experience the thrill of live performance in a professional setting.

Theatre Sarnia believes in creating a space where everyone belongs.
No matter your experience level — whether you’re a seasoned performer or simply curious — we invite you to be part of the next generation of artists at the Imperial.
