Directions

Follow these steps to reach your destination smoothly and efficiently. Each step is designed to guide you clearly from your current location.

From the North - Grandbend/Goderich Area

Follow Highway 21. Turn right at Kettle Point and join Lambton Road 7 through Camlachie and Brights Grove until it becomes Lakeshore Road in Sarnia. Continue following until it becomes Christina Street North passing the entrance to Canatara Park on the right. Cross over Highway 402 and continue on Christina Street through to Downtown Sarnia. After passing City Hall on your right you will see the digital marquee of the Imperial Theatre two blocks ahead on your left.Alternatively stay on Highway 21 through Forest and join Highway 402 westbound at Exit 34. Follow Highway 402 until Exit 2 Christina Street. Off the ramp, turn left at the traffic lights onto Christina Street. Cross over Highway 402 and continue on Christina Street through to Downtown Sarnia. After passing City Hall on your right you will see the digital marquee of the Imperial Theatre two blocks ahead of you on the left.

From the South - Chatham/Wallaceburg

Follow Highway 40 North until Churchill Road traffic lights. Turn left and proceed to the second traffic light. Turn right onto Vidal Street (Highway 40B) passing through the petrochemical plants and over the CN overpass, where Vidal Street becomes one-way Brock Street entering residential Sarnia. Turn left at the Wellington Street traffic light. Cross over Vidal Street and turn right onto Christina Street at the Sarnia Library. You will see the digital marquee of the Imperial Theatre two blocks ahead of you on the right.

From the East - London Area

Follow Highway 402 until Exit 2 Christina Street. Off the ramp, turn left at the traffic lights onto Christina Street. Cross over Highway 402 and continue on Christina Street through to Downtown Sarnia. After passing City Hall on your right you will see the digital marquee of the Imperial Theatre two blocks ahead of you on the left.

From the West - USA

Take I-94 to the Bluewater Bridge (tolls apply). Allow time for Canada Customs.

Take Highway 402 Exit 1 for Front Street, Point Edward. Turn right at the lights onto Front Street, pass Centennial Park, then turn left at George Street and right onto Christina Street. The Imperial Theatre will be two blocks ahead on the left.

Parking

While the Imperial Theatre does not have a dedicated parking lot, parking is available within walking distance of the venue, ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience. Whether you prefer street parking or nearby lots, you’ll find plenty of options to suit your needs.

Christina and Front Streets

Across from the Imperial Theatre is a parking lot with a capacity of approximately 40 spaces, that runs between Christina and Front Streets, with an entrance/exit on both streets.

Cromwell Street

Beside Tang's Restaurant. On the corner of Cromwell and Victoria Street is a parking lot with a capacity of approximately 200 spaces, within a few minutes walk from the Theatre.

Beside Cromwell Grill

On the corner of Cromwell and Front Street is a parking lot with a capacity of approximately 75 spaces, within a few minutes walk from the Theatre.

George and Front Street

Two parking lots are available betwen Front Street and the River.

Parking On Street

There are about 100 parking spaces on Christina Street and nearby, all within a 5-minute walk of the Imperial Theatre. Parking is free for up to 2 hours Monday to Friday until 6 pm, and free after 6 pm and all day on weekends, making it convenient for both short and longer visits to the area. These spaces offer easy access to local shops, restaurants, and attractions as well. With flexible parking options, it's an ideal choice for anyone visiting the downtown area.

Accessibility

The Imperial Theatre has an obligation to provide patrons with disabilities suitable access to the theatre to enable them to enjoy our performances in comfort with minimum inconvenience.

Accessibility Features

Wheelchair-level power buttons provide easy access to the Box Office and Theatre foyer. Our Box Office and Front of House staff are trained to assist patrons with mobility needs. Balcony seating requires climbing two flights of stairs and is not accessible for those with restricted mobility.

Accessibility Suite

An Accessibility Suite designed to provide street level access for wheelchair patrons and their attendants. This suite has its own entrance from the Theatre foyer and can be configured with space for up to 6 standard wheelchairs. These seats are not available for purchase on-line. Please contact the Box Office at 519-344-7469 to secure wheelchair seating.

Access 2 Card Program

The Imperial Theatre is proud to be part of the Access 2 Card program. Companions receive one complimentary ticket up to a $45 value with the purchase of a standard admission ticket. For performances with a higher ticket price, a $45 discount will be applied to the total purchase amount.
