2026 Sarnia- Lambton Municipal Election Debates
Voters across Sarnia-Lambton will once again have the opportunity to hear directly from local municipal candidates before casting their ballots this fall. The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce, Imperial Theatre, The Book Keeper, The Jean Collective, and Healthy Democracy are proud to present the 2026 Sarnia-Lambton Municipal Election Debates, providing free, non-partisan public forums that encourage informed civic participation and meaningful community dialogue.
The purpose of the 2026 Sarnia-Lambton Municipal Election Debates is to provide voters with a respectful, non-partisan forum to hear directly from candidates, learn more about the issues facing our community, and make informed decisions before casting their ballots. 2026 Sarnia-Lambton Municipal Election Debates
Admission to both debates is free; however, tickets are required due to the theatre's seating capacity. All seating is general admission.
Monday October 19th-Mayoral Candidates Debate
Tuesday October 20th-City and County Council Candidates Debate
Both debates will also be livestreamed free of charge, allowing residents to watch from anywhere. Livestream links will be shared through the participating organizations' websites and social media channels closer to the event.
To help ensure these events are accessible to everyone, both debates will be interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) for members of the Deaf and hard of hearing community. The livestream will also feature automatically generated closed captioning, allowing even more residents to participate in these important civic discussions. Anyone requiring additional accessibility accommodations is encouraged to contact the organizers in advance.
The organizing partners are committed to providing a respectful, accessible, and politically non-partisan forum for both candidates and voters.

All ticket sales are final. Tickets for Theatre Sarnia shows may be exchanged between performances of the same show as availability allows. Additional fees of $2/ticket apply for exchanges requested by Non Theatre Sarnia Subscribers. Theatre Sarnia Subscribers may exchange up to 2 shows per season at no cost.
